When Game Night Goes Deep Undercover | #ThisWayToTheParty

The best board game for adult game night is Codenames: Deep Undercover available at Target and Target.com!

A lot of people tell me I tend to be “the oldest young person they know” when it comes to getting together with friends.

I’m a big fan of board games and also one of those people who’s pretty low-key. The perfect night out with friends is a night in playing games that aren’t appropriate to be played in the company of kids. Because let’s be real for a second…we all love our kids, but pretending to lose can get old quite fast.

So having just moved to Oklahoma, my first order of business after unpacking all of my underpants was to gather my friends for a night of fun. I’m nothing if not hospitable! Our board game of choice for the night was Codenames: Deep Undercover.

I’d personally never played the original, but the gameplay remains the same, where each team has a spymaster looking at a key card, gives their team a one-word clue and a number to locate their team’s words. The new spin-off of the hit game Codenames takes players Deep Undercover with all-new words, art and mature play.

You wanna talk about conjuring up the biggest belly laughs with friends, that’s exactly what a night of this game brought to the table. I even laughed so hard I cried at one point. It’s super hilarious to get really, really into the sneaky, sleuthing part of this game. Keeping a straight face and getting creative with your clue giving is hard, but totally worth it when you win.

We broke out into a guys against girls round at one point and I highly recommend doing this on a board game night with your friends. Something about that dynamic brings the friendly competition out of everyone like you’ve never seen.

Have you and your friends played Codenames: Deep Undercover yet?
Codenames: Deep Undercover is available exclusively in North America at Target and Target.com.

Aww, darn, I was hoping they gave you one you give away! 😉

I’m really into board games recently, so I’ll have to check this one out. You didn’t feel at a disadvantage having never played the original? I’ve heard of it, but never played it.

It’s possible I may be giving away a bunch of board games soon…keep an eye out over here and on social media for that.

I didn’t feel at a disadvantage. The instructions that come with this version of the classic are very thorough and easy to understand. There was really no going wrong.
