My favorite season of the year is upon us. Sure I love the fall and winter months because of the brisk air and the pumpkin spice lattes. Moreso than that, I love this time of year because it means all the really great movies come out. Summer release movies are usually focused on the action packed variety, but fall and winter theatrical releases are all about the awesome storytelling of the cinema.
One film I’m looking forward to the most is The Man Who Invented Christmas. Based on the inspiring true story of how Charles Dickens (played by Dan Stevens) came to write our society’s most iconic and classic Christmas story, A Christmas Carol. This is such an original perspective as opposed to going the traditional remake of a classic film route when there are already over a dozen for A Christmas Carol already.
ABOUT THE MAN WHO INVENTED CHRISTMAS
The Man Who Invented Christmas tells of the magical journey that led to the creation of Ebenezer Scrooge (Christopher Plummer), Tiny Tim and other classic characters from A Christmas Carol. Directed by Bharat Nalluri (MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY), the film shows how Charles Dickens (Dan Stevens) mixed real life inspirations with his vivid imagination to conjure up unforgettable characters and a timeless tale, forever changing the holiday season into the celebration we know today.
