Something far better than McPhood this way comes.

I love food.

Real. Delicious. Food.

That also explains why I love fresh&easy.

And now? NOW?! There’s a whole new reason to start ring shopping.

Introducing: Kitchen To Go. A pop-up meal shop within the fresh&easy stores, designed as a “new take on take-out”. With four (technically five if we’re counting the eat well line and why wouldn’t we?!) meal types, inspired by kitchens the world over, I won’t be surprised when traditional fast food becomes a thing of the past…no longer tradition…extinct…like the dinosaurs, yo.

There are over 150 American, Asian, Italian, and Mexican faire meals to choose from at price points ranging from $1.99 (yes, as in one penny less than two dollars or WAY LESS THAN YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE FOR A FRESH, LOVINGLY PREPARED MEAL!) to a family-size portion for under $10. I don’t know about you’re family, but our two and a half person household (let’s be honest, four-year-olds are way too damn picky to be counted as a whole people) couldn’t even begin to wrap our heads around spending less than $5 per person on a ready-made, totally-bad-for-you, greasy-drive-thru meal.

Here is a little video that includes the chefs, yes, real life chefs who make the recipes for all of those one hundred and fifty meal options, some of their favorite creations, and a little more information on the latest Kitchen To Go initiative.

Initiative you say? Why yes, I do say. Why do I say? It’s simple…

I think that this is a really, really, REALLY big thing to take on as a grocer. To provide not only an affordable option, but an accessible, healthful, simple option? Well, that’s just really smart people right there. There is so much potential for a shift to mindful consumption that can come from this line that, even attempting to explain it, gets me emotional. OVER A GROCERY STORE YOU GUYS! Everything about this company, from the way it operates at the very top to the food it is selling in its stores, there is not one negative thing I could even muster to share about them. They think of everything. Their product suppliers. Their staff. You. Even me. You’d be hard pressed to find a company these days that genuinely rejoices in the satisfaction that each and every one of their customers experiences.

So now that I’ve made it all the way to third base with fresh&easy on my parents’ couch, let me get my bra back on so I can share something really super stellar that I’m pretty sure you don’t want to miss.

From right this very second (well, technically right this very second two days ago) through Wednesday, June 27th, in an effort to celebrate this awesome new line of meals, the good folks over at fresh&easy are giving things away. Things like gift cards. And, I’m sorry, but who doesn’t love a gift card?! Entering is as simple as snapping a pic of your favorite Kitchen To Go meal in hand (or mouth) and posting it to Twitter or Instagram with two simple tags, @FreshandEasy and #kitchentogo. I mean, super duh! No brainer! Do it! Winners will be randomly chosen throughout the day for the duration of the promotion so, you can totally enter eight hundred forty-six point five times…if you want.

Have you tried a Kitchen To Go meal yet? Do you already have a favorite?

Disclaimer: I was not asked, persuaded, or compensated in any way to post about this line of meals, fresh&easy, or anything that you just read (especially the part about my parents’ couch). I just really, truly love them THAT much, which I’m sure will be the topic of an upcoming therapy session, but today I feel perfectly fine with that.

I have has their lettuce wraps. Not that great. The "spring rolls" which really should be called egg rolls werent bad. Hot and sour soup is ok, except it's so spicey I couldn't eat a whole bowl of it. We'll see - I have a couple other things in my fridge.
